Kota the historical city of Rajasthan

Located in southern Rajasthan on the banks
of the river Chambal, Kota is part of

Kota was part of the jurisdiction of the
famous Kingdom of Bundi. In 1624 it was
on the orders of Mughal emperor Jehangir
that it became an independent state. Rao
Deva ruled on it and was dropped by his
son Rao Madho Singh. Later, the 19th century,
he came under British rule in India. The
museum is an important part of Kota Tourism
named after Rao Madho Singh. The various
objects and relics displayed at the Museum
is an integral part of the city's history.
The 14th century Kishore Sagar Tank is
a major tourist attraction in Kota. The
unique feature of Jagmandir Kota tank
separates it from other places of worship.
It is built on an island at the centre
of Kishore Sagar Tank. Another museum
is the Kota Brij Vilas Palace Museum.
Kota an important tourist attraction is
the Kota Barrage.
The various gardens provide a respite
for visitors. An important tourist spot
in Kota is the Chambal Gardens. A crocodile
pond at the centre is the main attraction
of the park. Some crocodiles can still
